Bridgeport resident Barbara March, 73, has pleaded guilty in Bridgeport federal court to escape from federal custody, U.S. Attorney John Durham announced.

In October 2006, March was sentenced in the District of Columbia to 15 years in prison for mailing baked goods laced with rat poison to Supreme Court justices, FBI officials and military leaders.

On April 26 last year, March signed out of her halfway house in Washington, D.C., where she was completing her sentence, and never returned. She was arrested in Bridgeport on Oct. 9 last year.

March has been detained since her arrest. She is scheduled to be sentenced on June 24, when she will face up to five years in prison.
